The SO HUM Tradition
RootBreath's sound design is rooted in the SO HUM mantra of the Himalayan tradition — 'SO' on the inhale, 'HUM' on the exhale, meaning 'I am that'. These techniques were taught to me by Master Kamal of KriYoga during my 200-hour training. The app brings this ancient practice to anyone with a smartphone — completely free.

Four Techniques
🌊 Box Breathing (Sama Vritti)
Inhale 4 · Hold 4 · Exhale 4 · Hold 4. Balances the nervous system. Used by first responders worldwide.
🌙 4-7-8 Breathing
Inhale 4 · Hold 7 · Exhale 8. Activates the parasympathetic nervous system for deep calm.
🔥 Breath of Fire (Kapalabhati)
Rapid rhythmic exhales. Energizes the body and clears the mind.
🌿 Alternate Nostril (Nadi Shodhana)
Balances left and right brain hemispheres for clarity and focus.
